Aaron Reynolds presents Greetings from Effin' Birds

Aaron Reynolds, author of Effin' Birds: A Field Guide to Identification and Greetings from Effin' Birds, will present his work at this in person event!

Ever since Effin’ Birds first appeared on social media, fans have been clamouring for a way to deliver these lavishly illustrated profane messages in the real world. Today is the day that their prayers and DMs are answered: Greetings from Effin' Birds is a book of 100 tear-out postcards, featuring new birds and new jokes, plus 100 absolutely true* Bird Facts that will help you spot these fine avian creatures in your everyday life.

*All 100 Bird Facts are completely untrue.

AARON REYNOLDS is a humourist, professional speaker, and the man behind the @EffinBirds and @swear_trek Twitter accounts. When he’s not on Twitter, you can find him producing a series of podcasts and at ComicCons dressed as George Lucas. He has been a baseball writer, a fine art printer, and a mall Santa Claus photographer. Aaron was raised in Mississauga, Canada, a suburb where they cut down all the trees and named the streets after them. He currently splits his time between Toronto and Ottawa.

A note about in person events:

Magers & Quinn is pleased to announce that it will begin offering in-store and in-person literary events again, starting August 31, 2021. We are very excited to bring authors and readers back together in our space, and we know you are too!

As we all navigate the transition back to congregating in person, we ask that you use honesty, care, and understanding in interacting with fellow event-goers, staff, and authors.

Please note that Magers & Quinn will always comply with current city and state regulations, and reserves the right to change the below policies at any time. These are guidelines only, and if you have questions about the most up to date information, you can always call us at 612-822-4611.

For information about how our in-person events will work over the coming months, please read on:

Q: Are masks required?

A: No, masks are not required in our building. But for the health and safety of others, we strongly encourage you to wear a mask if not vaccinated for COVID-19.

Magers & Quinn does not currently require cloth masks or face coverings be worn by staff or visitors. However, in accordance with CDC recommendation, Magers & Quinn strongly encourages individuals who have not been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to continue to wear a mask in public. Masks will be made available for event-goers who wish to use one.

Q: Are in store events free?

A: Yes, Magers & Quinn events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Q: Do I need to RSVP?

A: Yes, please. Each event will now include a registration link.

As we navigate this step back to in-person events, we will be limiting event capacity to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all attendees and authors. By requiring pre-registration, we can easily communicate event updates and policies with those who plan to attend, can contact attendees after the event with follow-up information, and can even make the decision to move to a larger venue if demand warrants this step.

We strongly suggest registering via the Eventbrite link provided on our website, but if you are unable to sign up online, please call or visit the bookstore and register with a bookseller.

We may or may not be able to accommodate unregistered walk-ins, and seating priority will always be given to registered customers. We appreciate your understanding of this new process!
