21 Easy Ukulele Hymns is built to take you past that wall.
Here's how. You'll learn to read tab, play the melody (not just the chords), and combine both into arrangements you build yourself - for solo playing or for a group.
And you won't be guessing where to start. The 21 hymns are ordered from easiest to hardest. Simple Gifts, the first song, uses just two chords and a simple strumming pattern - you'll likely play it today. Thirteen more use only three chords, so confidence builds fast, one hymn at a time.
But here's where it gets interesting: once you know a hymn, you don't just move on - you go deeper.
Take Simple Gifts. You get five different ways to play it. Sing the melody while you strum. Play the melody alone, straight from written-out tab - no music reading required. Play it in a second key, so you can match your voice or another instrument (15 of the 21 songs come in two keys). Fingerpick it, using full written tab for a style you've probably always wanted to try. Or choose your strumming pattern - simple, complex, or a different one for every verse (9 songs include patterns written right under the music, so you can see exactly how melody and accompaniment fit together).
Why does one song need five versions?
Because that's how you actually learn what makes music easier or harder - not by reading about it, but by feeling it under your fingers. It's how you find your own creative voice inside a melody you already love. And it's how a room full of different skill levels ends up playing the same hymn together - one person singing and strumming, another carrying the melody, everyone locked into the same song. That's the moment this book is built for: the gladness of playing sacred music together, not just alone in a room.
Every one of the 21 hymns comes fully equipped - chord stamps, a suggested strumming pattern, multiple verses for a devotional or a group setting, and the history behind the song.
