It's a New Testament translation that reads unlike anything traditional and challenges some widely accepted traditions. However, it is faithful to the original intent-Webster has simply swapped the traditionally used words and replaced them with phrases that, in 21st-century America, better communicate what the author was trying to convey. Some of the translation's clearest distinctions from others include:
● The word church is never used; it is instead replaced with the word team (which is a far better translation of the Greek).
● The word believe is almost always replaced with have faith (also a far better translation of the Greek).
● Letters are arranged chronologically instead of by size.
● Wherever possible, difficult names of people and places are moved to footnotes.
● An extensive companion glossary (available at NCM-21.com) answers common questions and provides background historical and cultural information.
Webster's translation emphasizes three major themes from the New Testament: faith that's faithful to God; caring love for all others; and focusing on an eternity worth living for, suffering for, and even dying for as motivation for faith and caring love.
