FELANOR is the story of a young woman's battle to overcome personal tragedy and an inimical enemy while burdened by her, and her society's, twin demons of prejudice and ignorance. In her journey to find her missing father and brother, Felanor, raised in isolation, and ignorant of Farhome's complex society, must not only learn how to cope with a new life thrust upon her, but also a burgeoning talent that finds her experiencing the prejudice of others and the avarice of her unknown enemy that covets that talent. Farhome is a planet far from Earth, colonized for several centuries by renegade bio-engineered human 'biots' escaping a tyrannical fundamentalist Terran society. Laran are the original inhabitants of Farhome. They possess an outré group intelligence which is faintly perceivable. Communication with them has proved impossible- until Felanor's appearance on the scene. Felanor is a young woman raised in isolation, ignorant of Farhome's complex society. Her village is attacked, her friends slain. An unknown entity is trying to kidnap or, failing that, kill her. All Felanor knows in the beginning is that she is beset by adversity. She sets out on an odyssey to find safety- and answers.
