A Second Letter to the Rev. Goddard is a book written by an anonymous author known only as A Layman and was published in 1815. The book is a response to the Reverend Goddard's previous work, A Letter to a Layman, which criticized the author's views on the Church of England and its practices. In this second letter, the author defends their beliefs and argues against Goddard's criticisms. The book covers a range of topics related to the Church of England, including its liturgy, sacraments, and authority. The author also addresses the issue of dissent within the Church and argues that it is not necessarily a bad thing. They suggest that dissent can lead to healthy debate and a deeper understanding of the faith. Overall, A Second Letter to the Rev. Goddard is a thought-provoking work that provides insight into the religious debates of the early 19th century. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the Church of England and its evolution over time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
