Professor David J. Lane is the anatomist of feeling, a titanic philologist who sees the world through the implacable lens of reason. When a minuscule event-the Glitch in a university café-crashes the entire architecture of his knowledge, Lane is forced to undertake an impossible mission: to dissect the one force the human mind has never managed to control: Love.
This is not a story to be read, but an investigation to be lived. Lane discovers that love is not a single feeling, but a geological battlefield between two primordial forces flowing beneath history in the Karstic River of the Soul:
The River of Order (Ananke, Cūra): The cold drive for survival, which builds dams of duty and religious contracts (Foedus).
The River of Chaos (Eros, Pathos): The volcanic spring of divine madness, which creates immortal art and destroys lives, until its medicalization into a Sýmptōma (Symptom) in the 20th century.
Through the Resonances, the reader is thrown from Lane's mind to live the visceral experience: from the slavery of passion in ancient Greece to the frost of duty in Puritan New England, right up to the choice paralysis of our own digital Delta.
The investigation culminates in a ruthless diagnosis: in our world of infinite scrolling and notifications, love is not dead. It has been hacked. Our generation is armed with clinical analysis (Sýmptōma) but disarmed in the face of the Cháos of unlimited options.
But the anatomist does not surrender to nihilism. In a collaborative synthesis with his students, Lane forges the Logos: a practical compass with four active principles (Resonance, Vulnerability, Gaze, Distance) designed to navigate the present without succumbing to its superficiality.
Kai Zen is the cartographer of the impossible. His works, defined as Narrative Phylogenesis, are not entertainment, but artifacts of structural investigation.
