John Cage: Koan of Non-Violence is a collection of texts written by the composer and architect Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta about the legendary American musician. They are eight texts written between 1995 and 2012. Emanuel Pimenta met John Cage at the Biennale of São Paulo in 1985, when both performed different concerts. They quickly became friends and Pimenta started collaborating as composer with Cage and Merce Cunningham. That collaboration remained over twenty-five years.
