Sabah Talat Kudrat was born in Baghdad in 1939. He graduated from the University of Baghdad, College of Education, Department of English in 1962. He worked in secondary education and held several positions in the Ministry of Education, the Department of Cultural Relations and UNESCO in Baghdad. He joined the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1976 and held several positions in Iraqi embassies in Sri Lanka, East Berlin, Cuba, Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York in 1989 and finally Chargé d'Affaires in Nairobi, then held a position in Baghdad before retiring in 2023. He passed away, may God have mercy on him, after suffering a stroke in 2002. I have the honor to publish my father's personal memoirs, which he wrote during his years of retirement.
