Published in 1930, As I Lay Dying is one of William Faulkner's most daring and influential novels. It tells the story of the Bundren family, a poor farming family in the rural South, who undertake a grueling and often tragic journey to fulfill the dying wish of their matriarch, Addie Bundren-to be buried in her hometown of Jefferson, Mississippi.
