Trevor Wainwright has been Chief Executive at Pennine Pipeline Products for three successful years. He is popular and respected by the workforce, and has previously enjoyed the backing of the board of directors. His world is suddenly thrown into chaos, however, when the company is acquired by Midland Building Systems. Trevor is sidelined whilst a young and inexperienced but ruthless man from group headquarters is installed as Managing Director, and existing working practices are abandoned in favour of more fashionable trends.
