Boy Scouts in Belgium: Or Under Fire in Flanders is a historical fiction novel written by George Harvey Ralphson and first published in 1915. The book tells the story of a group of American Boy Scouts who travel to Belgium to assist in the relief efforts during World War I. The story begins with the Scouts arriving in Brussels, where they witness the devastation caused by the war. They are soon recruited by a Belgian officer to help transport supplies to the front lines. The Scouts quickly find themselves in the midst of the fighting, and must use their scouting skills to navigate the dangerous terrain and avoid enemy fire. As they continue their mission, the Scouts encounter a number of challenges, including enemy attacks, treacherous weather conditions, and the loss of several members of their group. Despite these obstacles, they remain committed to their mission and are eventually able to deliver the much-needed supplies to the soldiers on the front lines. Throughout the book, Ralphson emphasizes the importance of bravery, loyalty, and resourcefulness, as well as the value of teamwork and cooperation. The novel is a thrilling adventure story that provides a vivid portrayal of the realities of war and the heroism of those who risked their lives to help others. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
