Follow along with Carl's career, from tiny radar van in the Central Highlands of Vietnam to some of the nation's busiest air control TRACONs. At the same time, Carl had a second career as a commercial, corporate pilot and flight instructor.
As if that wasn't enough, when he left ATC, he became a law enforcement officer in Nevada's second largest Sheriff's Office.
What motivated him to pursue a life on the outside of the envelope? The first edition of this best-selling book was pretty rough. What I didn't know about grammar and mechanics became evident. This second edition cleans up the story a bit, while also answering thousands of questions that arose from the first book. The story also explains in depth, the automation system controllers relied upon. I spent almost half of my FAA career in an automation staff position. I like to think that I made a difference there as well.
