64 Original Etudes Designed to bridge the gap between standard intermediate band method books and standard advanced trumpet pedagogical material, Comprehensive Studies and Etudes for Intermediate and Advancing Trumpet Players focuses on developing mastery in the keys and instrument range of what an intermediate player is likely to encounter in his or her everyday playing. The keys covered here in detail range from those with three flats to those with three sharps. Keys with more than three sharps or flats are only very briefly touched upon. In addition to major, minor and chromatic scales, studies on pentatonic and blues scales are also included. *Note: The book Scales, Arpeggios, and Beneficial Studies for Intermediate Trumpet Players, 2nd Edition by this author is included in the contents of this book. Even the best band method books often lack sufficient material targeting the mastery of scales and arpeggios, and sometimes what they provide has been compromised so as to enable all the instruments of the band to play together simultaneously. Additionally, band method books often do not adequately cover certain techniques that are specific to brass instruments, nor do they adequately include the type of lyrical melodies that are best for developing individual musical expression and characteristic vibrato. This book is provided to fill in those gaps. It is my hope that your musicianship and mastery of the trumpet will be greatly enhanced and accelerated through diligent practice of what is provided here.
