This study focuses on the contribution of sugarcane cultivation to the household economy in the rural commune of Wacha/Magaria department. The aim of this work is to analyze the various forms of sugarcane's contribution to the household economy in this locality, particularly in the villages of Wacha, Gayi and Garin kanta. The methodological tools used were documentary research, observation and quantitative and qualitative surveys. The results reveal that sugarcane cultivation contributes to the household economy of the farmers in the study sites through the expenditure items it covers and investments. Thus, 65% of farmers use the income from this crop to feed their families, 15% for social ceremonies, 16% for clothing and school supplies for their children, and 4% for medical care. In terms of investment, 32% of farmers invest in the purchase of livestock, 26% in the purchase of agricultural inputs, 11% in small businesses and 29% make no investment at all.
