This book will help a Christian layperson or pastor better understand the teachings of Mormonism. It is called a Crash Course because it covers a lot of ground. While this overview looks at many things, all the chapters flow together to give you a good insight into LDS teaching and practices.

Note: Members of the LDS will probably not like this book or agree with its content. They would consider it A Crash Course in Converting Mormons to Christianity. Also note this book can be very helpful to members of the LDS who are thinking about leaving the LDS.

Official LDS books, manuals, articles and the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price are referenced in this book. We feature many quotes from Joseph Smith, Mormon Presidents, Prophets, Apostles and Elders.

We have tried to present the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as accurately and fairly as possible. But some concepts are difficult to understand and explain, especially Preexistence and the End Time teachings. Also note, that many of the practices described may not be followed by the LDS in all places. Customs and procedures vary by location. For example, not everyone may have a personal journal.

This book also presents an overview of the basic teachings of the Bible, especially as it relates to specific doctrines of the LDS. Numerous passages are given to show what the Scriptures teach about the Triune God, humanity, law, gospel, grace, sin, the Bible, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the resurrection, heaven, and salvation.

The discussions of the Bible verses in the second part of this book seek to deepen your own personal understanding of the Christian faith. Before you can share your faith with someone else, you need to fully understand and appreciate the good news of the Bible. You need to appreciate the power of God's mercy and grace and experience the forgiveness of sins that come through the cross and resurrection of our Lord. God the Father loves you unconditionally. Salvation is a gift.
