The Cross Above The Crescent is a book written by Samuel Marinus Zwemer, which discusses the validity, necessity, and urgency of missions to Muslims. The book explores the challenges faced by Christian missionaries in their efforts to evangelize Muslims, including cultural and linguistic barriers, as well as the theological differences between Christianity and Islam.Zwemer argues that despite these challenges, missions to Muslims are necessary and urgent, as they offer the hope of salvation to those who have not yet heard the Gospel. He also emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting Muslim culture and beliefs, and of presenting the Gospel in a way that is relevant and accessible to Muslims. The book includes a detailed analysis of the history of Christian missions to Muslims, as well as practical advice for missionaries who are working in Muslim contexts. Zwemer draws on his own experiences as a missionary in the Middle East, as well as on the insights of other scholars and missionaries who have worked with Muslims.Overall, The Cross Above The Crescent is a thoughtful and insightful exploration of the challenges and opportunities of missions to Muslims, and a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in reaching out to Muslim communities with the Gospel. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
