This book compares body-centred psychotherapy (ICP) and solution-focused brief therapy. It substantiates the hypothesis that the two approaches can be successfully combined and complement each other in practice, and verifies this using a practical example. Both therapies originate from the humanistic psychotherapy movement and are based on the premise that it is helpful to focus on the client's needs, goals and resources. The main difference is that solution-focused brief therapy is a purely talk-based therapy that has developed various methods for quickly formulating goals and exceptions during the conversation and focusing on them. In contrast, body-centred psychotherapy uses additional methods and interventions. Body awareness and actively shifting to other dimensions of life or other sensory channels are of central importance and enable the client to have experiences on a different level than the psychological-mental level and to integrate these into their everyday life.
