Under the impetus of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), Chad's customs administration has long included the use of new information and communication technologies among its strategic choices, in order to continuously improve service to users and meet performance requirements. Today, the completion of several projects has enabled us to breathe new life into trade facilitation. So, when asked what contribution the digitization of customs procedures has made to improving the performance of Chad's customs administration? There are two opposing realities. Firstly, although the use of automatic customs clearance methods has led to a significant improvement in customs rules for processing trade in Chad, it is clear that the Chadian customs administration is not sufficiently equipped to meet the challenge posed by the very existence of trade carried out using the new computerized techniques.
