As Jesus taught by parables, Moses taught deep truths by ceremonies. The Biblical pictograph is meant to serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things. (Hebrews 8:5) Our eyes began to open as The Lamb of God was slain for the sins of the world. When the Day of Pentecost was fully come (Act 2:1), the Age of Passover gave way to the Church Age, the Age of Pentecost.

When the shadow in the Torah gives way to the fullness of the Day of Atonement, its dawning shall be known in a people given to intercession.

The Day of Atonement was a much anticipated day in ancient Israel. The high priest entered into the Holy of Holies carrying the blood of the bullock and the goat. Once within the Veil, he made atonement, sprinkling the blood of both animals on the cover of the Ark of the Covenant.

The people waited outside. When the high priest emerged from behind the Veil, he would announce that the intercession was accepted. Their sins were forgiven.

This day became the beginning of Israel's fiscal year, as Passover was the beginning of the sacred year.
