This is the story of a little boy named Alan. He is a very good baseball player. But his fear of going to the barbershop made him unable to clearly see the baseball; because of all the extra hair falling on his eyes. This story is for boys who don't like getting their haircut because of they have fears. Encouraged by Mama and Dada who love him so much, he gives the barber a chance in this story about bravery and trust in his parents.
This is Renán's second book, he's the author of Blessed Blade A Barber's Monologue. He is well aware of the fears some boys face when getting their haircuts, after more than 30 years as a barber. Haircuts can be very distressing to children's eyes. Some are more sensorial than others. The trick to cutting kids' hair is to do it quickly and distract them with something like cartoons. Maybe offering a reward after the haircut too. You'll be surprised by the progress after offering something so simple as a lollipop. They don't want to be the center of attention. Don't wait too long to get the next haircut. That way your children will be familiar with the haircut routine faster. A coloring book version is also available.
