This was not a little book I knew I would write. It poured out of me because of an evening when the Lord came to me before I was tucked into bed. His presence was so powerful, and I knew He was doing a work I didn't quite understand. The next morning, I got into my closet to pray. Quickly, the title of this book was repeated to me. I had heard the phrase just a few days earlier. It seemed He wanted to pen my last 9 years journey of healing for other readers who perhaps were in need.

You may not understand that your wilderness is also a tender training field, whereby Christ is growing a warrior that is strong and skilled but also gentle. There is something delicate that happens after trauma, when Jesus is given the chance to redeem all that seems lost. I didn't realize I was living out the very scripture I would preach again and again in Hosea 2:14-15.

My you, too, find your song again. For the valley of trouble will become a door of hope.
