Kylie was trying to step up into the role, but she wasn't sure that she was the right person for the job. And, Nikki just wanted to fight the world and she dealt with her anger.

Monica and Layla were in Lexington. Monica was waiting and trying to keep her children's hopes up about Beth. They'd never dealt with Beth being deployed. She was determined that they were going to make it through this, like she had so many times before. At least this time, Beth didn't tell her to move on if she didn't come. She promised to come home.
