Dermot MacMorrogh; Or The Conquest Of Ireland is a historical tale set in the twelfth century, written in four cantos by John Quincy Adams. The story follows the eponymous Dermot MacMorrogh, an Irish king who seeks to regain his throne after being exiled by a rival clan. To achieve this, he enlists the help of Norman knights led by Richard de Clare, also known as Strongbow. Together, they engage in battles against other Irish clans and ultimately succeed in conquering parts of Ireland. The book presents a fictionalized account of the historical events that took place during the Norman invasion of Ireland, with a focus on the political and military strategies employed by the various factions involved.
