This original journal records the experiences of a British officer, P. J. Maitland, during his arduous journey from Jacobabad to Panjgur in Balochistan, Pakistan, in 1881-82. The journey, which covered over 500 miles, was beset with many dangers and difficulties, including attacks by Baloch tribes, hostile terrain, and disease. Maitland's vivid descriptions of the landscape, the people, and the customs of the region provide valuable insights into the history and geography of Pakistan, and make this book a unique and fascinating account of a remarkable journey.
