'Diary of a Wickedly Cool Witch' contains a wonderful concoction of magical mystery, a squeeze of fantasy, a splash of realism and a huge dash of crazy humor, with a little bit of romance stirred in, and a good helping of life lessons on the side for older middle grade children and teenagers. Life is tricky enough when you're entering your teenage years and having to deal with friendship issues, boy crushes, horrible bullies, bossy parents, too much homework and the odd zit or two, but for twelve year old Lily, it's completely chaotic and out of control. Because she's not just your average seventh grader. Lily is also a good witch who has been sent to Earth to rid the world of bullies, and save people from disaster and calamity.
The problem is, she's more interested in joining the cheerleading team and falling in love, and that keeps getting in the way of doing her real job properly.
In the first book of the series, Lily, the sassy, but adorable witch goes head to head with the school's meanest cheerleaders in a bid to stamp out bullying, and there seems to be plenty of bullies at her school, spreading their spitefulness around like a noxious vine. But Lily's on to it. She's a pro at what she does, and nothing will get in her way, nothing will get in her way. That is, until she starts to notice one of the bully's boyfriends just happens to be one very cute guy who seems to be showing more than a fleeting interest in her. In the same vain as Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, this middle grade book puts a fun spin on dealing with bullies, standing up for yourself and hanging out with friends, Amazon reader. Best book in the world. I do not think I have ever read a better book as I am proud to say this book is not just amazing but it's AMAZING also it's so cheap. I thought this might be only for girls aged 12 but as a young adult I loved it and it was so funny with lots of toilet humour. I would recommend it for anyone who can just let go and enjoy a fun story. If you have teenage daughters or granddaughters, this is the book to grab them. Readers get to meet Lily who looks twelve, but is actually a 286 year old witch. Lily has a special purpose and ability, but a hard time trying to do what she is supposed to. In this book she is tying to help Kaitlyn and finding out a lot about how others act. The book is silly, fun and also takes younger readers into a great story. The book was so good, I was obsessed with it! It's awesome, very funny and so cute and Lily (the witch) is so nice and I would love to be her friend and this book is very interesting and you just cant wait till the next page. So I would recommend you getting this for your daughter!!!;) This was a very funny and entertaining book that shows bullying can also backfire. It was great to see the tormentors get their just desserts. WICKEDLY COOL WITCH SERIES - CURRENTLY 5 IN THE SERIES - Read as stand-alones or as part of the series.
