Families, bargain hunters, and teenagers poured through its glass doors for the year's biggest holiday sale, ending with fireworks, representing summer freedom.

But that weekend, something else moved among the crowds. As patriotic music echoed through the atrium and firecrackers burst in the distance, the mood began to shift. The storefronts hid something sinister...
