Dracula is a Gothic horror novel written by Bram Stoker, first published in 1897. The story is told through a series of letters, diary entries, and newspaper articles, and follows the character of Jonathan Harker, a young lawyer who travels to Transylvania to help a wealthy nobleman, Count Dracula, purchase an estate in England. As Harker becomes more and more unsettled by the strange and terrifying events that occur during his stay at Dracula's castle, he realizes that his host is not what he seems.Back in England, Harker's fiance Mina and her friend Lucy are also experiencing strange occurrences, including Lucy's inexplicable illness and the appearance of a mysterious figure who seems to be stalking her. As the novel progresses, it becomes clear that Dracula is a vampire, and that he is using his supernatural powers to prey on the people around him.The novel is notable for its depiction of the vampire as a seductive and alluring figure, as well as for its exploration of themes such as sexuality, gender roles, and the clash between modernity and tradition. It has been adapted numerous times in film, television, and other media, and remains a beloved classic of horror literature.1897. Bram Stoker wrote numerous novels, short stories, essays, and lectures, but Dracula is by far his most famous work. His other works have not aged well, but the story of Count Dracula continues to sell steadily even to this day. Stoker coined the term undead, and his interpretation of vampire folklore continues to this day to shape the portrayals of legendary monsters. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
