This research explores the influence of women's education in union on their desire to have an additional child in Benin, using data from the 2017-2018 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS). The author demonstrates that women with a higher level of education are more inclined to limit their childbearing, thanks to greater autonomy and a better understanding of economic, social and family issues. The study also identifies determining factors such as age, professional status and access to family planning, which moderate this relationship. Finally, recommendations are put forward for improving educational and reproductive health policies, thereby promoting more effective fertility control in Benin.
