Although most of the Old Testament is in the form of history, it is essential to understand that it is not merely human history, but it is human history written from God's point of view - or more specifically, human history from God's point of view as it relates to Abraham and his descendants. The human stories included in the Old Testament are not there simply because they happened, but they are there because they reveal something about the relationship between God the Creator of all things and His creation.
