The Fallen Star is a novel written by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. The story follows the life of a young man named Glyndon who is an aspiring artist. He meets a mysterious woman named Zanoni who claims to be an immortal. Zanoni teaches Glyndon about the occult and the secrets of the universe. Glyndon becomes obsessed with the knowledge he learns and becomes determined to uncover the secrets of immortality. However, his quest for knowledge leads him down a dangerous path where he must confront the consequences of his actions. The novel explores themes of love, immortality, and the dangers of seeking power beyond human limits. Bulwer-Lytton's writing style is known for its Victorian gothic elements and the novel is considered a classic of the genre. As Morven, the son of Osslah, thus mused within himself, still looking at the heavens, the solitary man beheld a star suddenly shooting from its place, and speeding through the silent air, till it as suddenly paused right over the midnight river, and facing the inmate of the pile of stones. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
