INTRODUCTION

(...)

When a parasite species has been depending on forcing itself upon one host, its entire life, it can not just pack up and leave. Expecting it to do so was cheer madness, and utter foolishness. Fathom knew what would happen when she would finally reach the maximal shedding off point of all this parasitic world, with all its factions and species. She knew that it would have to either EVOLVE, OR DIE. There was no third option. She also knew in what ways the evolution would work. The minute these species would face an imperative of getting off her, to figure and be in the reality, they would decide one of two options. Either to leave permanently, since not supported by her as host or carrier, or get off her person to continue being in the reality around her person. There was no third option. Fathom knew also there were possible versions where the parasite would seem to leave, but only to inhabit another level of the same species, and then come back to seek the absolute of the setting. In this version, and scenario, the parasite would then decide to never leave; only give its new hosts the illusion they were leaving.
