At the beginning of the 18th century, in the West Indies, a pirate caught by the authorities becomes a convict working in a mine.
While doing his hard work in a dreadful atmosphere and exhausting heat, he recalls his past adventures, lived a few years earlier.
Although there is no hope for his possible escape, he keeps thinking about his former partners and friends, and particularly about the 'Señorita Evelia Castillo', a pirate as well, imprisoned somewhere on a Caribbean island and probably already executed...
After some hesitation, we find some offices that seem quiet, and we immediately begin our work of investigation...
Evelia is searching cautiously...Every place, every desk or library is inspected; and I watch over her all the time, keeping an eye on the surroundings.
Spending many long hours, as if we were spies or thieves...
And in the long run, we are successful!
But at the precise moment we are finding our documents, we are suddenly surrounded by three navy officers and a kind of fierce West India Trading Company mercenary...Maybe they were patiently following us or watching us in secret, and we didn't notice their presence...
