En 1968, de l'Ouest à l'Est, on remet sérieusement en doute l'american way of life. S'inscrivant dans ce contexte agité et fertile aux réfl exions lancées tous azimuts, Krishnamurti engage une tournée américaine et rencontre les étudiants du pays, auxquels il s'adresse dans ce volume à la fois en prenant la parole avec l'intransigeance et l'ironie qui le caractérisent, mais aussi en privilégiant le système du questions-réponses, où l'on retrouve ses thématiques de prédilection: la vie, la mort, l'amour.
