While putting the finishing touches to the exhibition 'One century of Africanism', Martin Finley has to start an investigation: African art pieces have been stolen as they were being unloaded from a cargo boat in the Liverpool harbor. Thus begins the confrontation between the captain of a harbor that is loosing its business, and museum men who would like to transforms the dockyard into a place for cultural activities. The confrontation is also that of two brothers: Abel, the exhibition organiser, and Jason, the artist from black Africa. And on each continent, a woman: Julia and Alice, two loves for two men, the one who stays and the one who leaves.
