This book deals with research at Master's level carried out as part of the Postgraduate Programme in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Centre for Technologies and Natural Resources (CTRN) of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG). The research was on the cultivation of hydroponic green fodder (FVH) from maize (Zea mays L.) fertilised with alternative nutrient solutions prepared using human urine and this associated with manipueira. The text of the book is divided into a general introduction, five chapters and conclusions of the results obtained. The Introduction describes the justification for carrying out the research. Chapter 1 contains a literature review, Chapter 2 describes the materials and methods used to carry out the research, Chapter 3 presents and discusses the results of the characterisation of urine, manure and sugar cane bagasse and Chapters 4 and 5 present and discuss the results of two experiments on growing maize fodder fertilised with solutions of human urine and this associated with manure.
