Ce livre raconte leur rencontre - brève mais foudroyante - où se croisent deux visions de la raison. Pour Turing, la logique est une machine, un calcul qui peut être poussé jusqu'à ses limites. Pour Wittgenstein, elle est un langage, un jeu aux règles mouvantes, reflet de nos vies et de nos doutes.
