This book is for you, concentrating on ear training so that you will instantly know the next melody note and the underlying chord. Carefully chosen songs take you from simple intervals to big leaps and from 3 chord songs to major sevenths, minor sevenths, diminished and augmented chords.
I taught myself to play guitar and piano, beginning in the 1960's and luckily at first the pop songs of the day were quite easy to play. Having a reel-to-reel tape recorder, I could record the television and radio and then set about learning how to reproduce those wonderful songs. As the pop groups improved, the complexity of the songs increased. This is what you will find in my book. Treat it as a project. It may take a year or even two but you will have so much fun on the journey.
