Through these experiences, Stephen transformed from a man lost in addiction and incarceration into a devoted leader and advocate for change. His time in federal prison became a turning point as he began to minister to fellow inmates, offering them hope and guidance through his deepened faith. Upon release, Stephen took on roles supporting others in their reentry into society, using his story as a beacon of redemption.
This book not only delves into the highs and lows of Stephen's journey but also reflects on the power of resilience, spiritual awakening, and redemption. Today, Stephen Barbee is a leader and advocate, influencing the lives of others through his work in ministry, reentry programs, and community outreach, offering hope and a path forward for those facing similar struggles.
Stephen Barbee is a devoted husband to Deidre Anderson-Barbee, proud father to Latasha, Stephen, Sherell, Skyelar, and Bria, and joyful grandfather to Ryeanne, Renae, Brielle, Zya, and Adonis. Once an All-American athlete, Stephen's path was derailed by addiction and incarceration-but it was in those darkest chapters that he discovered faith, healing, and purpose.
Today, he is a minister, mentor, and founder of Passion to Purpose (P2P), a life-changing initiative that empowers justice-impacted individuals to reclaim their dignity and live with intention. Every message Stephen shares flows from his personal journey of transformation and a deep belief that others can rise too.
Stephen's voice has reached national platforms from the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services to correctional institutions across Oklahoma, Ohio, Arizona, Texas, Missouri, and Kansas. He's spoken at the Missouri Restorative Justice Conference, served as commencement speaker for Highland Community College, and was featured in Victorious Living Magazine.
