When author Elizabeth Lizzy Hornwhistle chooses a simple life in South Dakota, away from sudden fame and the paparazzi, she faces a long and frigid winter but none of the peace and quiet she'd imagined.

The citizens of her new home, Harperstown, don't let the weather get in their way, and soon Lizzy is busy with an obnoxious next-door neighbor, a mystery maze to plan, two pet houseguests-and a poisoner on the loose.
