Liebe Katzenfreunde und Katzenfamilien!
Wenn ich mich beschreiben soll, ist Bescheidenheit tabu und Superlative ein Muss. Ich bin nicht arrogant oder von mir selbst eingenommen - wie man es uns Katzen manchmal nachsagt - sondern einfach nur ein Wunderwerk der Biologie.
Menschen meinen gelegentlich, dass es auf Äu erlichkeiten nicht ankommt.
Grundsätzlich bin ich ja keine Plaudertasche, aber für euch mache ich jetzt einmal eine Ausnahme. Es geht um nichts Geringeres als meinen Luxuskörper und dessen im Laufe der Katzen-Evolution fast zur Perfektion gereiften Funktionen.Wir Katzen werden gerne als geheimnisvoll bezeichnet und dieses Image gefällt sowohl mir als auch den anderen Katzen in der Nachbarschaft. Und davon gibt es gerade in unserer Gegend, wo sich am Rande einer Gro stadt ein villenähnliches Mehrparteienhaus mit wunderbaren Innenhöfen an das nächste reiht, sehr viele und auch sehr unterschiedliche.Geheimnisvoll zu sein bedeutet ja, nicht durchschaut werden zu können, was uns einen Hauch von rätselhafter Macht über unsere menschlichen Mitbewohner gibt. Nicht zu viel davon, aber genug, um als besondere Wesen wahrgenommen und dadurch auch einige Privilegien im Vergleich zu anderen Haustieren genie en zu dürfen.
Damit ihr noch besser auf uns eingehen könnt - woran mir und der gesamten Katzenschaft sehr viel liegt - werde ich etwas aus dem Nähkästchen plaudern. Da ich hier in unserer Umgebung wohl der Kater mit der grö ten Kenntnis von Katzen-Anatomie bin, wurde ich zum Sprecher gewählt und darf euch in diesem Buch mehr über uns erzählen. Hätten mich die anderen Katzen nicht gewählt, hätte ich das einfach so beschlossen.
Als ich von meiner Katzenmama vom Züchter in mein neues Zuhause gebracht wurde, musste ich ganz ohne Sentimentalität feststellen: ich hatte es wirklich gut getroffen! Mit der unbändigen Neugier eines Kätzchens begann ich mein neues Revier zu erkunden: Katzenklo sofort gefunden. Sauber und wohlriechend. Check! Futternapf mit nahrhaftem Katzenbaby-Lieblingsfutter gefüllt. Check! So viel Neues zum Entdecken, Erklettern und Jagen. Check! Kuschelige und sichere Ruheplätze. Check!
Anfangs gab es mehrere verschlossene Türen. Wahrscheinlich sollte ich von all den neuen Eindrücken nicht vollkommen überwältigt und überfordert werden. Der Fressbereich, die Toilette und das geräumige Zimmer mit all den gemütlichen Ruheplätzen sowie Kratz- und Klettermöglichkeiten schienen meine neue Welt zu sein. Das war auch für kurze Zeit so.
Sobald ich merkte, dass sich hinter den verschlossenen Türen noch mehr, eine noch grö ere Welt verbarg, forderte ich entsprechend Zutritt. Zuerst versuchte ich, mit meiner Nase mehr über die Geheimnisse hinter den Türen zu erfahren. Dann machte ich durch verschiedene Miau-Arien darauf aufmerksam, dass ich da hinein (oder hinaus) wollte. Es bedurfte einiger Versuche, um herauszufinden, welche Tonlage genügend Mitleid erzeugte, um die unmittelbare und gewünschte Aufmerksamkeit zu erl
