Uebrigens ist es noch lange nicht erwiesen, dass für die Zeit des Alkman und Tyrtaeus im Lakonischen die Kürze zu verwerfen sei, oh gleich der spätere Lakonismus (wenigstens der der Inschriften) nur die Lange hat. Offenbar hat sich bei einem Theile der Don'er schon früh die Länge festgesetzt (im Munde des gew. Volkes wird die Kürze sich auch hier länger erhalten haben), bei andern später, wie bei den jüngern Delphiern im Gegensatz zu den altern.
