Ghost Theories is a lighthearted and sometimes humorous true story of raising children in a haunted house, entangled with eerie activities throughout their five-year stay.
When Jeff, his fiancé Maurine, and young daughters, Sheri, 10 and Rae, 7, rent an 1865 farmhouse in rural Michigan, they soon discover they are not alone. Jeff, a skeptic of the paranormal, believed everything had a logical answer, often butts heads with Maurine, a believer in ghosts and the supernatural when something can't be explained away plausibly.
Their daily routines were interrupted and entwined by occurrences that seemed to have no reasonable explanation. Confronted with several mysteries like the cold spot in the stairwell, mischievous dealings with missing items, a washing machine lid that would inexplicably raise, unexplainable voices, a cat seeming enjoying invisible attention plus several encounters with a child-like apparition that moved freely from room to room, they still decide to remain in the house.
Jeff and Maurine slowly accept the ghostly presence, always attempting to keep the children shielded, only to realize they too were captivated.
