The Federal Constitution of 1988 restored the rule of law in our country. Defining health as a fundamental human right, the Constitution linked it to social and economic policies and access to actions and services aimed at its promotion, protection, and recovery. As for the broad view of health in ports, in order to perform efficient and satisfactory work in the face of the countless difficulties that arise, it was necessary to have a deep understanding of the peculiarities of port workers and port work. To this end, it was necessary to combine skills to identify which data and information are effectively important and to have concepts and techniques capable of giving them relevant meaning. This work aims to present the actions developed since the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Secretariat of Ports of the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Health with the purpose of developing public policies that present a set of actions capable of preventing, reducing, and eliminating risks to the health of port workers, prioritizing the defense of collective health over economic interests, correlating it with quality of life.
