Grieving from the premature death of his wife from leukaemia, John Handful sets up a private detective agency in the Suffolk coastal village of Oxmarket. His first client turns out to be Tador Zhivkov a member of the local Polish community wanted by the police for the disappearance of his pregnant wife. Seeking to prove his innocence Zhivkov hires Handful and what follows is a heart rendering short story of lost love and unrequited dreams
