Horse Or Blacksmith? is a novel written by Nat Gould and originally published in 1897. The story follows the life of a young man named Arthur Linton who is torn between his love for horse racing and his duty to his family's blacksmith business. Arthur's passion for horses leads him to become a successful jockey, but his success comes at a cost. He neglects his responsibilities at the blacksmith shop and his family's financial situation worsens. Arthur must eventually make a choice between his two passions and decide whether to continue racing or return to the blacksmith business to save his family from ruin. The novel is a classic tale of following one's dreams and the sacrifices that come with them. It also provides a glimpse into the world of horse racing in the late 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
