This is not a history of Umbro nor of the sport of football (aka soccer). There are some background elements relevant to the development of the sport, but the stories here are the author s recollections, many stimulated by other members of the Umbro team, of experiences during the wonderful growth years of Umbro USA, from the late 1970s through the early-1990s.
