In If Pain Could Make Music, Ron Morin has created a witty, chaotic, feverish look at how we heal from - or don't heal from - traumatic events, and the ways in which our past never really leaves us.

Mr. Morin's play, The Chimney, won the Firehouse Center for the Arts New Festival Award, and was produced by Theatre in the Pines. If Pain Could Make Music is his first novel. He has a degree in French literature and a Master's in school psychology from UMass/Boston. He studied for a year at the Sorbonne in Paris. He has taught French, special needs students, and been executive director of a social service agency, which he grew from $150K to $4M in twelve years by designing creative programs to address addiction, mental health, and homelessness. The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts honored him with an Enduring Hero award. Also, he received a commendation from the Humane Society of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, for bravery in saving a life, when he rescued a woman from a burning building. He lives happily with his wife, Lisa.

As Lem forms relationships, struggles with sexual offenders and the emotions they spark, and tries to feel a love that he should harbor but can't quite touch, readers receive a thought-provoking tale of anguish.
