THE COMPLETE TEACHER results in greater teacher autonomy, more cooperative parents, and students who are independent, self-motivating, and responsible. Everyone is happier and more fulfilled. in my presentation here are some of the participants comments. Once students know you are closely observing them to help them and you prove that you hear them (good listening skills), they understand you truly care about them and discipline problems decrease. I love that. I never realized that I used coercion so often in class. I never thought that persuasion was the other side of the coin and both are means for control. I will try negotiation as you explained because I do want my students to become more independent, self-motivated, and responsible. I plan on documenting everything now. I get it that it protects the district, the principal, the student, and me. It provides a pattern of observations that enable me to make better decisions. Thank you,
