The Inheritance Mysteries is a cosy, light, mystery series of books about various inheritances that didn't quite work out the way the recipient thought they would. As well as intrigue, odd twists and deceit, there is also a sprinkling mystery. Each series is comprised of four books, although this is also available as a single, complte bookt.
In 'Not What It Seems' a rich widower, Jack Braithwaite, finds love again a couple of years after his wife's death, but his children, seventeen, eighteen and twenty-one by that point, refuse to even meet his new girlfriend. They leave home and move in together. Their father cuts them off, after buying them a house and car. They have to sort out a way to earn their own money for food and to pay bills. This causes many problems.
Then the father is diagnosed with a fatal illness. He makes a strange will, leaving each child the one thing they had always claimed they wanted most. This is what seems like a substantial inheritance. However, each legacy is not what it seems, and chaos and tantrums ensue.
