From the middle of 20th century and well into the 21st, the Reinhards, first the elder Sepp, followed by his son Daniel, were fixtures in the Formula 1 paddock. Both professional photographers, and their combined archive of racing images numbers in the millions.

For author Daniel Reinhard, intimate access to cars, drivers, and teams was a defining characteristic of the period spanning the combined careers of himself and his father. With explosion of the sport's popularity in recent years, much of that intimacy has been lost. In the author's words, Special accreditation is required for every meter, and in some cases, photographer registrations are even allocated by lottery. The paddock and podium are packed with people, and even the most-credentialed photographers struggle to reach the drivers.

Although an illustrated book, authored by a photographer, this work is really about the personal interactions and experiences of the two Reinhards. These moments, particularly those shared with the drivers, are special because they are unique, even more so those that never appeared on a television broadcast. The stories are accompanied by more than 300 of the finest images from the Reinhard archive.
